Dorothy Mae Reaves

Dorothy Mae “Weeks” Reaves, 85, El Dorado Springs, departed this life on June 3, 2011. She was born on June 30, 1925, to Burbridge and Pearl Weeks.

She was married to Don Reaves on Dec. 24, 1948. They had four children - Michael D. of Buffalo, Melven Don of El Dorado Springs, Marla Diane Lambrecht of El Dorado Springs and Marylin Dorene Banister of Camdenton.

Dorothy was saved on Sept. 7, 1941, and joined with North Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church near Buffalo, MO. She moved her membership to El Dorado Springs Missionary Baptist Church in 1974. Dorothy considered her salvation the greatest thing that ever happened to her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Burbridge and Pearl (Smith) Weeks; six brothers - Jesse, Oba, Fawnie, Howard, Wayne and Heber Weeks; three sisters - Lossie Wingo, Orphie Breshears and Mamie Nixon, all of the Elkland and Buffalo area.
She is survived by her husband, Don; all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by one brother, Wintford “C.W.” Weeks of Elkland.

Services were held on Sunday, June 5, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Bro. Everett Smith officiating. Interment followed in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Matt Obernuefemann, Chase Banister, Jacob Banister, Chet Matzke, Logan Shotts and Will Popejoy. Honorary pallbearers were: Shane Lambrecht and Tyler Shotts.
