Kevin Ray Parish

Kevin Ray Parrish, 45, passed away on Sept. 4, 2011, at his home in rural El Dorado Springs after a four year battle with cancer. He was born to Junior and Madelene Parrish on Nov. 7, 1965, at the Cedar County Memorial Hospital.

Kevin graduated from El Dorado Springs R-2 High School in 1984. After graduation,
Kevin farmed and ran the feed store with his father. He also hauled livestock for customers and maintained his cattle and hay ground after his father’s death in 2003 until the present.

Kevin was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and his father, Junior, who passed away in 2003.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Madelene Parrish, and daughter, Gracie Parrish, of the home. He is also survived by one sister, Kim Calvin, and her husband, Gray, of El Dorado Springs; one niece, Larin Burns, and her husband, John, of Republic; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of friends.

Services began at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept.7, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Davis officiated and Linda Burns provided music. Burial followed in Virgil City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Mark White, J.R. Marshall, Brad Leonard, Craig Lester, Steve Woody and Rob Hale. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Marshall, Larry Turner, Rusty McCowan, Randy Meyers, Darrell Heinkenbein and Scotty Heinkenbein.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vernon County Cancer Relief and left at the funeral home.
