Seward Finis 'Nub' Ketterman

Seward Finis “Nub” Ketterman, 62, Lowry City, was born Sept. 7, 1946, in Nevada, to Kenneth A. “Cobb” and Rebecca Jean (Largent) Ketterman. He passed away Aug. 8, 2009, at his home near Lowry City.

Nub, as he was known to his friends, was very proud of serving his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War on a swift boat as a gunner’s mate. He was a member and retiree of Sheet Metal Workers Local #2.

On July 21, 1991, he was baptized at the First Christian Church in El Dorado Springs. He loved the Lord, his family, grandchildren and friends, the outdoors and his Harley.

Nub was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth A. “Cobb” Ketterman; and brother, Stephen Keith “Hank” Ketterman. 

He is survived by his son, Jack Ketterman, and wife, Jamie - Lowry City; daughter, Kristin Heely, and husband, Tyler - El Dorado Springs; his mother and stepfather, Jean and Ray Mach - Scandia, KS; sisters, Toni Morrissey - Joplin, and Linda Thuman, and husband, Brett - Belleville, KS; grandchildren - Kaiden and Colby Ketterman, and Alyssa and Sadie Heely - El Dorado Springs; aunt, Margaret Ketterman - Nevada; brother in-law, Jerry Morrissey - Joplin; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Services began at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, in the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel, Osceola, with Rev. Bob Fenwick officiating. Special music was In The Garden, Amazing Grace and He with soloist, Leonard Ketterman and soloist, Polly Eichelberger and pianist, Beth Ketterman. Interment followed under the direction of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home in Peaceful Home Cemetery.

Casketbearers were - Howard Spitler, Mark Crist, Wayne Richardson, Jerry Morrissey, Mike Magoon Randy Ketterman and Jim Neuenschwander, and honorary casketbearer, Ray Mach.
