Rena Lora Neely Cubbage, 84, Nevada, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at Community Springs Health Care, El Dorado Springs, following a lengthy illness. She was born Nov. 7, 1918, in Pleasant View to Reuben Neely and Vernie McMillian Neely.
She married Emery N. Cubbage on June 28, 1942, in Nevada. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1996.
Mrs. Cubbage attended Blue Mound School. She graduated from Harwood High School in 1937. She lived on the farm east of Nevada all her married life. She was a member of the Walker Christian Church.
Other than her husband, Emery, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters - Grace Neely, Nora Phillips and Margaret Cubbage, and one brother, Elmer Neely.
Survivors include one son, Robert Cubbage, and his wife-Barbara, and one grandson, Steve Cubbage, and his wife-Martha - all of Nevada; one granddaughter, Christy Cubbage - Shawnee, KS; three great-grandchildren - Lauren, Broc and Alexa; one sister, Joan Markham - El Dorado Springs; one brother, Reuben Neely - Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Friday, Oct. 10, at Newton Burial Park with Dr. William Cox officiating under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, MO 64772.
