William Earl Montgomery Jr. 'Wild Bill'

William Earl Montgomery Jr. “Wild Bill,” 63, Augusta, KS, passed away after a car accident on Saturday, July 24, 2010. Bill was born Aug. 26, 1946, to William Earl Sr. and Doris Loreene (Young) Montgomery at Mountain Grove.

In 1948 Bill moved to Augusta where he lived and retired from Boeing Aircraft. Bill would help cowboying anyone who needed help.

He married the love of his life, Linda (Hatfield) Oliver, on July 3, 1985, in Leon. KS. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his companion and work buddy, Granny and Daisy Mae.

Bill leaves behind - his wife, Linda, and friend, Maxwell (a dog) of the home; sons - Dawayne, and wife, Tonya Oliver, and their children, Justin and Brandee – Augusta, KS, Ryan Montgomery, and sons, Skylar, Dylan Gabriel and Nehemiah – Augusta, Stacy, and his wife, Wendy Simon, and their sons, Judd and Luke – Augusta, KS, Randall, and his wife, Denise Smith, and their children, Miranda and Colton – Augusta, KS; daughters - Erica Wesley, and her children, Alli, Caden and Carson – Augusta, KS, Kerri Montgomery – Augusta, KS, Rhonda, and her husband, Randy Key, and their children, Crystal, Daimon and Dane Woods – Latham, KS, Connie, and her husband, Stacey Bevans, and their children, Dalton, Dakota and Bailey – Augusta, KS; sister, Brinda Stroer - El Dorado Springs; mother-in-law, Shirley Hatfield; nephews, David Gardner, and his wife, Jennifer – Eureka, KS, JR Stroer, and his wife, Debbie Tyler; nieces, Melody, Melissa Gardner and Tina, and her husband, Pete Smith, and their children, Kelse, Kaylee and Zack - El Dorado Springs. Bill will be missed by his family and friends.

A graveside service was held Friday, July 30, at Garrison Springs Cemetery, east of Augusta, KS, under the direction of Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta, KS.
