Jimmie May Villines

Jimmie “Mae” Villines, 90, El Dorado Springs, passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, 2011. She had resided at John Knox Village Care Center for the past three and a half years. Mae was born in Newton County, AR, to James Talmage “Tal” and Nancy Orlena “Lena” (House) Villines on May 2, 1920. Her five siblings were Erbie Coleman, Claude Villines, Alma Woodell, Evelyn Grossman and Christine Brasel.

She married William “Dowl” Villines on Feb. 14, 1948, and had one son two years later. Mae was a loving Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She was a Sunday School teacher and song leader for an Assembly of God Church for over 50 years and a blessing to everyone who knew her.

Jimmie “Mae” Villines is survived by her husband, William “Dowl” Villines; her son, C. Allen Villines; two grandchildren, Martin Villines and Heidi Villines-Moretina; two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Mackenzie Moretina; two sisters, Evelyn Grossman and Christine Brasel; and many other relatives and friends.

A service was held Friday, Feb. 4, at the First Assembly of God Church in El Dorado Springs. Pastor Dana Taylor officiated and Bud Benskin helped with music.

A graveside memorial was held at Gaither Cemetery in Boone County, AR, on Saturday, Feb. 5.

Arrangements were under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
