George E. Dunfield

George E. Dunfield, 62, El Dorado Springs, passed away on Thursday evening, Oct. 2, 2003, in the Cedar County Memorial Hospital. George was born in Nevada and resided in El Dorado Springs for the past 30 years.

He graduated from the Nevada High School and enlisted in the Navy. He served his country for four years. Ge¬orge married Ann Murphy of El Dorado Springs. Three children came from their marriage of 36 years.

George worked 18 years at 3M. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.

George was preceded in death by his parents, William and Opal Dunfield; brothers, Ernest Dunfield and Jr. Dunfield; and daughters, Cheryl Donner and Vicki Dunfield.

Survivors include his loving wife-Ann - El Dorado Springs; his son, Tommy Dunfield, and his wife-Deanna - New Bern, NC; his sisters and their families - Irene Christian - Olathe, KS, Mary Stewart - LaCyene, KS, Joann and Wayne Wyrick - Reed Springs, Linda and David Ayers - Mound City, KS, and Sue Sandoval - California; his brothers and their families - Jurden Dunfield - Metz, Joe and Lola Dunfield - El Dorado Springs, James Dunfield - El Dorado Springs, Bob and Dorothy Dunfield - California, and Lloyd and Sandy Dunfield - Nevada; his son-in-law, Dan Donner - El Dorado Springs; his grandchildren - Wayland Donner - El Dorado Springs, Zachary and Trevor Dunfield - Lamar, and Alyssa Dunfield - New Bern, NC; and a host of other family and friends that knew George and loved him.

Services were held Monday, Oct. 6, at the Hackleman Chapel with Bro. Keith Irvin officiating. Musical selections were provided by Brenda Hill and Janet Cheek. Interment was in the Virgil City Cemetery under direction of the Hackleman and Sons Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Terry Jo Dunfield, James Allen, Robert Aumann, Dan Donner, David Loane and Shawn Loane.
