Patricia S. Hunt, 63, Parsons, KS, died at 9:07 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. She was born May 3, 1947, in Parsons, KS, to John Oliver and Maybelle (Journot) Walker. She grew up and attended schools in Parsons, KS.
While living in Washington State from 1975 through 1994, she especially enjoyed spending time in Snoqualmie Falls. In 1995, she returned to Parsons, KS, where she had lived since. Through the years she worked as a nurse’s aide in various nursing homes.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, crocheting, spending time with her dogs and caring for people.
She married Melvin V. Hunt Jr. He preceded her in death.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Walker; and one sister, Mary Kay Walker.
Survivors include: one son, Melvin V. Hunt III, and wife, Heather – Springfield; one grandson, Walker Guss-Hunt; two brothers, John O. Walker, and wife, Hilde - Lawton, OK, and James Walker, and wife, Teresa - Oswego, KS; three sisters – Cheryl Dade, and husband, Larry - Schell City, Lee Ann Driggs, and husband, Gerald - El Dorado Springs, and Jeannie Gassen, and husband, Randy - El Dorado Springs.
Memorial services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, KS. Private committal services will be held by the family at a future date.
