Howard W. Julian


Howard W. Julian, 82, San Antonio, TX, passed away at the Regent Care Center on June 5, 2009. He was born Aug. 8, 1926, the son of Harvey and Eunice (Sumner) Julian in Cedar County.

Sergeant Howard Julian served in World War II in France, Belgium, England and Germany. Later, he served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was proud to serve in the Army for 20 years and 19 years for the Department of Defense, a total of 39 years. He was presented many awards and commendations for his service.

Howard was preceded in death by his late wife, Faye (Devers) Julian, on May 30, 2008; his first wife, Marie; his parents; and brothers, Kenneth Lee Julian and Cecil Julian – Welch, OK.

He is survived by two brothers, Frank Julian, and wife, Pinya – Kansas City, and John Julian, and wife, Linn; two sisters, Mary (Julian) Lady, and husband, Leo Lady, and Pauline (Julian) Hlavacek, and husband, George – all of El Dorado Springs; many nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.

Howard will be missed by his family, friends and his neighbors, Al, Millie and Dick, who were so helpful during is illness, and Faye (Devers) Julian’s nephew, Russell Bush.

Services were held in the Porter Loring Colonial Chapel in San Antonio, TX, with Reverend Joe Walts presiding.

Interment was at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military rites.
