Ralph T. Plank

Ralph T. Plank, 91, Soap Lake and former Quincy, WA, resident, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, WA. Ralph was born on June 26, 1917, to James and Sarah Plank in Cedar County.

He married Janet Pastoor in 1940 in Twin Falls, ID, and they farmed on the McMaster’s Flat. They moved to Quincy, WA, in 1952 and were among the first to farm in the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project.

They relocated to Royal City, WA, in 1960, where they were able to purchase more farmland.

Ralph started three successful farm equipment dealerships and many other ventures. He loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William; and a daughter, Wanda.

He is survived by a sister, Eula Mae Vickers - Nevada; his sons, James - Berkeley, CA, and Gerald - Ephrata, WA; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ritch Morehouse - Federal Way, WA; and three grandchildren.

A celebration of life service was on Wednesday, June 10, in Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy, WA. Internment followed in the Quincy Valley Cemetery.
