Virginia Mae (Pace) Breeding

Virginia Mae (Pace) Breeding, 80, Cedar County, was born in Cedar County on Sept. 2, 1928, to Rex Pace and Mae Pace. She passed away on June 24, 2009, at her home as the result of natural causes.

She lived nearly all of her life in Cedar County, attending grade school at Sandridge and graduating from El Dorado Springs High School in 1945. Her education continued in the 1980s with degrees from SMSU.

Virginia was married on May 24, 1946, to Carl Breeding in Fort Scott, KS.

She lived south of El Dorado Springs on a farm for over 60 years and loved sewing and gardening.
Virginia was a kind and generous woman who will be missed by those who knew her.

She is survived by four children – Daniel and his wife, Susan – Loan Jack, Dennis and his wife, Janet – Newalla, OK, Laura Smith and her husband, Ron – Sarcoxie, and Mark – Independence; 10 grandchildren – Andrew Breeding, Elizabeth Breeding, Robert Carl Breeding, John Paul Breeding, Leon Breeding, Leslie Morris, Lesia Dee, Leland Morris, Russell Smith and Joe Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Pace – Boca Raton, FL, and Harold Pace – Granby; one aunt, Eunice Wilkins – El Dorado Springs; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held Sunday, June 28, in the Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Rev. Dana Taylor officiating and Karen Rains providing music. Interment followed in the Sandridge Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were – Leslie Morris, Leland Morris, Leon Breeding, Levi Breeding, John Paul Breeding, Russell Smith, Kent Henry and John Bruce.

Memorial donations may be made to Sandridge Cemetery and left at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs.
