Linda Cecile (Cherry) Roseman

Linda Cecile (Cherry) Roseman, 71, Columbia, passed from this life Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009. She was the second of four children of Thomas Arthur and Mary Neal Cherry, born in Mansfield, AR, on Oct. 4, 1937.

She graduated from high school in Ft. Smith, AR, and from Hendrix College in 1959.

Linda was a tireless volunteer. She served as a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher, church volunteer and hospital auxiliary volunteer. During her time in El Dorado Springs, she taught kindergarten, led numerous Chamber of Commerce events and raised her three daughters. In more recent years she worked for the March of Dimes, the First Christian Church in Columbia and Macy’s Department Store. She enjoyed traveling with many wonderful friends and doing all that she could to help take care of her father. She enjoyed sewing and craft projects and always had wonderful hand made gifts for family, for the church bazaar and for friends. She will be remembered for her willingness and ability to help out. She was always willing to take on one more project, organize one more fundraiser and take care of one more person. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include – daughters, Becky Roseman (and David Derks), Charlotte (and Louis) Garrett, and Susan (and Steve) Kleiboeker; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Tom (and Norma) and Steve (and Gloria; and her father, Thomas.

Services were held Friday, Sept. 11, at the New Horizons Methodist Church in Columbia. Graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 12, at Coop Prairie Cemetery in Mansfield, AR.

Linda requested that in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made to Hendricks College, 1600 Washington Avenue, Conway, AR, 72032.
