Melvina Gertrude Forest, 74, Diamond, passed away in her home on April 7, 2009. Melvina was born Dec. 15, 1934, in Louisville, KY, to Melvin and Mavis (Metcalf) Breedlove.
On Sept. 7, 1955, she married Charles Forest in Reno, NV. To this union three children were born – Neal Timothy, Colleen Sherill and Mark Howard.
After working as a nurse in the base hospital in the Air Force, Melvina later worked as a telephone operator and was a wonderful housewife.
Melvina loved to travel and visited Canada, Mexico and most of the United States including Hawaii. Overseas travel included Samoa, Australia and New Zealand. Other hobbies included crocheting and watching movies.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and one brother, Raymond Breedlove.
Survivors include her husband, Charles, of the home; two sons, Neal Forest – Diamond, and Mark Forest – Independence; one daughter, Colleen Forest – Diamond; and one grandson, Todd Forest – Diamond.
Services were held in the Bland-Hackleman Chapel on Tuesday, April 21, with Pastor Barbara Minton officiating. Interment followed in Hall Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs.
Pallbearers were – Todd Forest, Dave Forest, Gary Forest, Neal Forest, Mark Forest, Mack Forest and Chuck Forest.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Melvina Forest and left at the funeral home.
