Eldon Lee Smith

Eldon Lee Smith, 83, beloved husband and father, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at Via Christi Medical Center in Wichita, KS. He was born June 26, 1927, in El Dorado Springs to Harold Newton Smith and Jewel McMillen Smith.

He was married to Mildred Ruth Kuntz and she survives of the home.

Eldon graduated from Concord Grade School in Cedar County and attended El Dorado Springs High School. He retired from the Beech Aircraft Company in Salina, KS.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Mildred, include sons, Donald Dean Smith, and his wife, Opal – Baker, FL, and Ronald Lee Smith, and his wife, Lyan – Valley Falls, KS; former daughter-in-law, Patsy Golden-Smith – Ridgecrest, CA; grandchildren – Laurie J. Rowan, C’Anne Wolf, Cheryl A. Smith, Steven Smith, and Desiree M. Dickey; step-granddaughter – Sarah Long, Lysa Preston and Jessica Long; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, Sept. 13, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington in Nevada, With Everett Smith officiating. Interment followed in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo.

Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, was in charge of the arrangements.
