Roxie Louise Scott, 85, Nevada, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a short illness. She was born April 6, 1925, in Nevada to William Benton Glendenning and Sylvia Garland Glendenning.
She was married June 26, 1949, in Nevada to Orville T. Scott and he preceded her in death on Aug. 10. 2007.
She was born and raised in Nevada and spent most all of her life in this area. She worked for a brief time during WWII in a defense plant in Wichita, KS. She also worked at the Nevada State Hospital and the Tent Factory in Nevada. She was a dedicated and loving mother and that love was returned in full.
In addition to her husband, Orville, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Orville Wayne Scott, and one sister, Nadine Jadlot.
Survivors include her two daughters, Debbie Brendlinger, and her husband, Jerry – Milo, and Marsha Sharp – El Dorado Springs; four grandchildren – Melissa Bedford, and her husband, Kevin–– Bella Vista, AR, Mathew Scott, and his wife, Angie – Kansas City, Jessica Pursley – Dexter, and Scott Janes – Nashville, TN; four great-grandchildren – Melina, Lashay, Daniel and Dylan; and three nieces – Janet Zoglmann – Milo, Kessie Steuck – Nevada, and Beatrice Farmer–– El Dorado Springs.
Graveside services began at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, in Moore Cemetery in Nevada with Pastor Bill Platt officiating.
