Shirley Jean (Holland) Reynolds, 79, was born Jan. 22, 1931, to Gladys and Forrest Holland, and passed away Oct. 9, 2010, in Bates County .
Shirley left school at the end of her sophomore year and always dreamed of going to college. Later, at the age of 34, she realized that dream by going to Warrensburg College and finished in three years at the age of 37 with a degree in education. She then taught school for over 30 years, specializing in Special Education.
She was married to Myrl Reynolds on Dec. 20, 1971, until his death in 2007.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myrl Reynolds, and grandson, Matthew Young.
Shirley is survived by two brothers, Ken and Rose Holland – Butler, and Richard and Lois Holland – Yakimah, WA; three children and one step-daughter: Ricky Lee Osborn, and wife, Diann – Joplin, Larry Don Osborn, and wife, Vicki – El Dorado Springs, Kathy
Sue Osborn – Las Vegas, NV, and Patricia Driskill, and husband, Bob – Clinton; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the home on Friday, Oct. 15.
