Harold Samuel Tucker, 67, Schell City, the son of Harold F. and Harriett (Curran) Tucker was born July 19, 1943, in Independence and passed from this life at 5:01 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at the North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City.
Sam attended Kansas City public schools and in 1961 entered the United States Navy. He later returned home to the Kansas City area and worked for the Leeds Plant.
About 40 years ago, he and Shirley made Schell City their home while still spending time in Kansas City for employment. Schell City became their permanent home in 1990. Through the years, Sam worked as a tile setter and truck driver. His hobbies included fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; and his oldest son, Steve, who passed away Sept. 7, 2010.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley – of the home in Schell City; one son, Brian Tucker and Melissa – Gladstone; two daughters, Beth Baker and Tom – Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, and Patty Humphrey and Randy – Harwood; one brother, Dan Tucker – Fergus Falls, MN; two sisters, Stella Tracy – Chillicothe, and Donna Vieth – Osage City; seven grandchildren – Lakyn, Taryn, Matthew, Greg, Nicholas, Tesla and Kenzie; one great-granddaughter, Willow; several very special nieces and nephews; and a host of many friends.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home in Schell City with Bro. Paul Thorade officiating.
Pallbearers were – Brian Tucker, John Courtney, Walt Koshko, Broc Koshko, Lucas Quamme and Rick Shaffer. Interment was in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell City.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home in Schell City.
