Lawrence Elbridge Delk, 78, El Dorado Springs, was born April 2, 1925, the son of Bert and Leona Delk, and passed away Sunday, June 23, 2003, in St. John's Regional Health Care Center, Springfield.
He was married to Fern Morrow on Oct. 27, 1945. To this union, two sons were born, Don and Mike.
Lawrence retired from Mid-Am Dairy after 23 years of service. He was a member of the Church of God (Holiness).
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Audrey Ward - El Dorado Springs, and Velma Hollingsworth - Springfield.
Survivors include his wife, Fern - of the home in El Dorado Springs; sons, Don Delk - El Dorado Springs, and Mike Delk - Tampa, FL; one sister, Marjorie Lea - Springfield; nine grandchildren - Tracy Ennis, Jama Nordby, Christy Ennis, Rick Delk, Randy Delk, Kelly Delk, Amanda Watkins, Ashley Delk and Mike Knoth; 22 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and lots of friends.
Lawrence was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his grandchildren and will be missed by all.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Church of God (Holiness), El Dorado Springs, under the direction of the Hackleman and Sons Funeral Home. Visitation was from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, in the Hackleman Chapel.
