Guelda Fern Reeves Blystone, 75, El Dorado Springs, passed away at Cedar County Memorial Hospital on June 3, 2009. She was born n June 26, 1933, in Cedar County to Emmett Reeves and Maudie Bogart Reeves.
Guelda worked for many years and retired from Sughart, Thompson and Kilroy Law Firm in Kansas City. She was a 45 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Summit Chapter #101 of Lee’s Summit. She served as Past Worthy Matron of Raytown
Chapter #97. Guelda was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Tri-Lakes Auxiliary #4279.
A loving mother, sister, aunt and friend, Guelda touched us all with her sassy wit and love of sports. She was always ready for adventure and fun. She is truly missed.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her daughter, Vicky Renee Blystone Hoagensen.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Wayne Blystone – El Dorado Springs; brother, Everett “Lucky” Reeves, and wife, Vivian – El Dorado Springs, sister, Muriel Reeves Root, and husband, Floyd – El Dorado Springs, three step-children – Lila Carriker, Melba Boyd and Randy Blystone; two granddaughters, Athena Hoagensen Krepps and Jessica Hoagensen; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, June 6, in the Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Rev. James Coleman officiating. Interment followed in El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were – Everett “Buddy” Reeves, Nick Reeves, Ed Montgomery, Steve Bailey, Rickey Wooldridge and Mike Payne.
