Richard E. King, 75, Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Dederick, passed away at the Hospice of Southern Kentucky, Inc. in Bowling Green on Saturday, June 27, 2009. He was born May 12, 1934, in Dederick to William P. and Vonda Price King.
He was a Supervisory Enumerator for NASDA, retired after 30 years with the American Can Co. in Englewood, IL.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Richard was an avid sports fan and was a big W.K.U. Football fan and he especially loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved his farm and working outdoors. He was a loving caregiver to his late wife, Carol.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol Anne King; brother, Donald King; and sister, Ruth Elaine Harris.
Survivors include: one son, Jim King and wife, Lisa – Bowling Green, KY; one daughter, Kathy “Kitty” Sawyer and husband, Tim”– Ft. Atkinson, WI; one brother, Stanley King – Independence; two sisters, Betty King – Overland Park, and Marge Murphy and husband, A.J. Dearborn; six grandchildren – Preston King, Josh Sawyer, Katee Sawyer, Molley Sawyer, Annie Sawyer and Wesley King; sister and brother-in-law, Harold and Mary Bullard – Bowling Green, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
