Daniel Ray Maus

Danny (Boone) Maus, 60, Schell City, passed away peacefully Monday, April 12, 2010, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, after struggling with health problems since 1993. Danny was born Aug. 8, 1949, in Centerville, IA, the son of Claude David and Mary Ellen (Davis) Maus.

He graduated from Schell City High School in 1967 and spent most of his life in the Schell City area. He retired from Teamsters Local 541 in Kansas City in 1993, due to health problems. Danny loved his work and missed it terribly since his retirement.
Danny loved to hunt and fish until his health slowed him down but he spent his last 10 years on his “little piece of heaven” in rural Schell City, enjoying all of the wildlife at his back door, with family and friends. He was a dedicated Democrat and wasn’t afraid to let you know it. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be fondly remembered and truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claude, and his brother, John, who passed away in March of 1996.

Survivors include his companion, wife and friend, Juanita, of the home in Schell City; two daughters, the oldest, Sherry Millsap, and her husband, Ken – Gig Harbor, WA, and their children – Jake Lander, Jessie Daniel, Stephanie, Stacy and Natalie, his younger daughter, Dianna Boultinghouse, and her husband, Mark – El Dorado Springs, and their children – Danielle, Brianna and Haley, his son, Daniel Ogle, and his wife, Jamey – El Dorado Springs, and their children, Dalton and Dani Louise; his mother, Mary Ellen Maus – Nevada; and two brothers, David Maus, and his wife, Beverly – Nevada, and Charlie Maus – Schell City; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and man friends.

Graveside services with interment were held Friday, April 16, in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell City, with Brother Doug Reynolds officiating. The musical selection When The Saints Go Marching In was chosen for the service. Pallbearers were – Roger Sanderson, Larry Sanderson, Kayla Hooten, Doug Majors and John and Kristi Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers were – Jim Bacon, Chris Winters, Daniel Ogle, Roger Dade Jr. and Larry Davis. Arrangements were entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home in Schell City
