Iva Fyrne Darnell, 101, El Dorado Springs, passed away April 4, 2010, at the Community Springs Healthcare Facility in El Dorado Springs. Fyrne was born in Cedar County, on Aug. 25, 1908, to John Oral and Birdie (Heller) Clopton. She was a devoted wife, beloved mother and grandmother and a devout Christian.
Fyrne married the love of her life, Joseph Berton Darnell, on Sept. 22, 1928. After nearly 52 years of marriage, Bert preceded her in death on May 5, 1980. She also was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Myrl Green and Velda Hertzberg, and infant sisters, Opal and Lois.
She is survived by her children - Paul Darnell and wife, Sally - Harrison, AR, Elenora Staab and husband, Fred - Raytown, Bernie Darnell - El Dorado Springs, and Beverly Darnell - Blue Springs; six grandchildren - Jeff, Paula, Douglas and Rusty Darnell, Karen Stocking and Hans Staab; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Fyrne will be lovingly missed and never forgotten.
Services began at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, at El Dorado Springs Church of God (Holiness) with Pastor Joe Trussell officiating and Darrin Griffin and Wanda Casey providing music. Interment followed in El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Darl Mays, Charles Worthington, Clarence Hackleman, Ed Morlan, Randy E. Bland and Mike Norman.
