Kenneth Edward Adams


Kenneth Edward Adams, 86, passed away April 26, 2010, with his niece, Vera Whitesell, by his side at Community Springs Healthcare. Kenny was born Feb. 12, 1924, in the home of his parents, E.R. and Gertrude Adams, in Cedar County. He was the baby in a family of 10.

He attended grade school at Pleasant Ridge. He was inducted into the Army on March 1, 1943, serving his country in Germany. Kenny was discharged Feb. 3, 1946.

He worked in mechanic shops in Colorado and Wyoming until he retired in 1986, moving back to El Dorado Springs.

Preceding Kenny in death were his parents, Eddie and Grudy Adams; three sisters - Ruby Barritt, Virginia Carter and Elizabeth Schwalm; five brothers - Eugene, Floyd, James, Paul and Lawrence.

Kenny is survived by one sister, Muriel Hammer, and many nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends.

Graveside services began at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, in Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, KS, with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Military honors were by the Kansas Honor Guard. Interment followed the service under the direction of the Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs.
