June Rose Gaughan, 69, El Dorado Springs, the daughter of Pete Vernon and Viola Jane (Evans) Teeples, was born June 12, 1942, in Omaha, AR and passed from this life on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
Early in her life, June, along with her family, moved across the United States to follow the vegetable harvest for work. As a young woman she met and married Joe Eaton and to their union three daughters were born. They resided in Fresno, CA. Later
on May 2, 1982, June was united in marriage to Stephen Gaughan in Pineville, AR, after they had met earlier when they both
lived in the Yosemite are. They moved to Missouri after their marriage to follow their church family and she resided here the rest of her life. Her hobbies included crocheting, a love of travel, ice cream – especially with chocolate and nuts and she was an avid yard saler.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen Vaughan – El Dorado Springs; three daughters – Lisa Price and her husband, Wilbur – Schell City; Tammy Ovando – Littleton, CO; and Robin Gardner and her husband, Michael – Visalia, CA; one son, Stephan Gaughan – Tallon, OR; her brother, Hurshel Teeples and his wife, Glenda – El Dorado Springs; 12 grandchildren–– Dawn Baker, Dustin Dowdell; Rebecca Forgey, Jeremy Price, Natasha Ovando, Kristopher Ovando, Ashley Ovando, Daniel Gardner, Sean Gardner, Brandon Gardner and Avery and Grace Gaughan; six great-grandchildren – Hunter, Desarae and Nathan Baker, Dusty Dowdell, Andy Price and Remington Forgey; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services were Monday, Aug. 8 at the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home in Schell City with Pastor John Beckett officiating.
Interment of June’s cremains will take place in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell City, at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home, Schell City.
