Sharyn Kay (Sumner) Clemmons, 63, El Dorado Springs, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at Christian Healthcare in Springfield, after a few months illness. She was born Oct. 10, 1947, in El Dorado Springs, to Harry B. and Hazel Nadine (Chapman) Sumner.
She was baptized at the Church of Christ in 1980 and her favorite scripture was John 3:16.
Sharyn was married to John Paul Clemmons. She had two sons, Rusty Sumner and Micheal Clemmons. Her children and her grandchildren were a special joy to her.
Sharyn worked several places across the years including Quality Products in Nevada, the shoe factory in Marshall, and Peppers Restaurant in El Dorado Springs, along with other restaurants. She was very diligent about her work and always wanted to be busy.
Sharyn’s father once said that “Sharyn knows everyone in El Dorado Springs.” And if she knew you, she always spoke to you. She will be very much missed by all who knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include two sons Micheal Clemmons - El Dorado Springs, and Rusty Sumner - Fayetteville, AR; five grandchildren - Samantha Sumner, Dusty Sumner, Braxton Clemmons, Alexis Paige Clemmons and Whitney Kay Clemmons; and many other relatives and friends.
Services for were held Friday, August 5, 2011, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Howard McPeak officiating. Burial followed in Mound Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Rusty Sumner, Dusty Sumner, Foxie Sumner, Daniel Sumner, Gerald Mogan and Ken Perrodin.
Honorary pallbearers were Dan Fugate, Monty Grice, Troy Janes and Charles Sumner.
