Kenneth Earl Messick

Kenneth Earl Messick, 60, Springfield, formerly of El Dorado Springs, passed away at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, in Springfield, after suffering a sudden heart attack.

He worked as a land surveyor and was an avid softball player and sports fan.

Ken was a member of Springfield Community Church of the Nazarene, 2616 E. Battlefield, Springfield.

He is survived by a son, Josh, and daughter, Holly Messick, of the home; his father and stepmother, Marion and Sharon Messick, Springfield; his mother, Lavonne Messick, Walker; numerous family and friends who loved him also survive. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18, in Springfield Community Church under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Walker. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
