James G. Painter
James “Jim” Garnett Painter, 74, died at his home in El Dorado Springs on July 8, 2009, after a long illness. He was born May 25, 1935, to Fred and Javarice Painter.
He enjoyed working in his father’s business, building and installing modular homes, his years on sea-going tug boats and in later years and cross-country trucking, until his retirement in 1993.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Javarice; and an older brother, “Freddie.”
He left behind his loving wife, Lynn; his children - Michael - Hampstead, NC, Judith Pye - McKinney, TX, Charles - Baltimore, MD, and Sean - Scottsdale, AZ.; three grandsons - Andrew, Gavin and Sean Pye and their children; step granddaughter, Valerie Todd -
Centreville, MD, and stepson, Mark Todd, who was James’ caregiver for the last four years of his life.
Jim loved life and never met a stranger. He loved the Lord, his family and his country.
Final disposition was cremation under the direction of the Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs.
