Nancy Matilda (Selby) Boyle, 85, of Milo, passed away on Aug. 28, 2009. Nancy was born on Sept. 10, 1923, in Sioux City, IA, to John Arthur Selby and Martha Ellen Trobaugh.
Nancy married Ralph Clinton Boyle on Oct. 20, 1942, in Sioux City, IA. Three sons were born to this union - Robert Ralph, James (Jim) Leonard and Harold (Harry) Raymond.
Nancy was a longtime member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in El Dorado Springs. She worked for 32 years at the International Shoe Factory in El Dorado Springs. She volunteered at Crosslines and helped deliver Meals on Wheels in El Dorado Springs. She worked hard at the Pow Wow in Nevada and the Pow Wow held at the Ed Woodington farm. She was good friends with the Ottawa Indian tribe in Quapaw, OK, in the late 1970’s and was given the name’“Mush Koo Dasa.” Nancy was also a member of Royal Neighbors in El Dorado Springs. She enjoyed making handmade quilts for family, friends and the Pow Wow. For many years she had a large garden and canned much of her produce.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 28, 1983.
Survivors include - three sons, Robert Ralph Boyle, and wife, Helen – Milo, James (Jim) Leonard Boyle - Sheldon, and Harold (Harry) Raymond Boyle, and wife, Betty Joe - Milo; seven grandchildren - Diane Lynn, and husband, James Edward Earl - Nevada, Bobbie Lee Boyle, and wife, Mary - El Dorado Springs, Juanita Lynn Boyle - El Dorado Springs, Paula Dawn, and husband, Wesley Mark Stoner - Bella Vista, AR; Lisa Michelle, and husband, Ben L. Cochran - El Dorado Springs, Sherry Lea Underwood - Rogers, AR, and Terry Edward Boyle - Rogers, AR; five step grandchildren - Tina Marie Crabb - Carthage, Theresa Rae Lewis - Webb City, Ray Howell - Rich Hill, Krystal Lynn, and husband, Ross Inman - Concordia, and Tonya Jean Ramsey - Branson, 14 great-grandchildren - Nichcole Danielle Earl, Dylan Cole Boyle, Sabrina Boyle, Brook Lynn Stoner, Kayla Dawn Cochran, Jacob Ryan Cochran, Alleene Taylor, April Boyle, Amber Boyle, Brittany Underwood, Conner Underwood, Noah Hardee, Delanni Hardee and Ritchard Hardee; 11 step great-grandchildren - Dalton Howell, Shawnda Edwards, Tyler Elliott, Dawn Crabb, Eric Howell, Kristinia Burege, Lucas Ramsey, Melody Ramsey, Harmony Ramsey, Domanic Johnston and Jordan Inman; eight great-great grandchildren: Jon Jon Taylor, Ricky Taylor, Nicholas Taylor, Raven Taylor, Jack Taylor, Terry Boyle, Jadon Boyle and Ayla Boyle; four step great-great grandchildren - Addie Slimp, Michael Martsolf, Dayton Edwards and Ernest Edwards; and one sister, Vivian Amland of Sioux City, IA. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and friends.
Nancy will truly be missed by all.
Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, in Virgil City Cemetery with Fr. Basil Doan officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be - Edward Earl, Ben Cochran, Ray Howell and Dalton Howell. Arrangements are under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
