Ethel Lucile (Baker) Mauck, 92, formerly of El Dorado Springs, passed away on Aug. 30, 2009, in Pittsburg, KS. She was born to Robert Louis and Stella Angeline (Hatcher) Baker on June 21, 1917, in Topeka, KS.
On Jan. 30, 1941, she married David Henry Peter Mauck. To this union were born five children.
She and her husband were missionaries to Jamaica for 18 years. Upon returning to the United States, Lucile served as an assistant to her husband, the Executive Secretary for Foreign Mission Board of Church of God (Holiness) from 1963-1983. After retirement they moved to the El Dorado Springs area where she became active in her local church.
Lucile was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; an infant daughter, Elizabeth Ann; one brother, Oren Baker; and five sisters - Elsie Reedus, Inez Genetske, Marie Potter, Ruth Arnold and Marjorie Harrison.
Survivors include two sons, Larry, and his wife, Jody - El Dorado Springs, and Raymond and his wife, Sharon - Fort Scott, KS; two daughters, Marilyn Mauck, and husband, Raymond Johnson, and Marjorie and husband, David Rice - all of Claremore, OK; one sister, Florence Taylor - Topeka, KS; five grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home in El Dorado Springs.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, in the Church of God (Holiness) in El Dorado Springs, with Rev. Joe Trussell officiating. Music will be provided by Faith Trussell, Barry Witt and Harold and Philena Scott. Interment under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home will follow in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be - Larry Duane Mauck, Matthew Collene, Andrew Rice, Aaron Tripp, Steve Reeves, Brian Becthel, Jack Collene and Randy E. Bland.
