Edward Lee Cartwright
Edward Lee Cartwright, 86, son of Robert and Fannie Cartwright, was born on April 20, 1924, in Mountainberg, AR. He left his earthly home and his loving family to be with his Lord and Savior on Aug. 11, 2010.
He was proud to be an American and served his beloved country as a member of the United States Army, in both World War II and the Korean War.
On May 31, 1963, Edward was united in marriage to Edith May Elliott and spent the next 47 years making her laugh with his wonderful sense of humor.
Edward loved to travel, so his chosen profession as a carpenter and heavy construction worker enabled him to travel and live in many cities across the country.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter and several siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Cartwright; three siblings - Beatrice Henry, Leslie Cartwright and Faye Weston; two sons, Roger Cartwright and Randy Cartwright; seven daughters - Karen Bean, Pamela Murphree, Candy Cook, Lucinda Drach, Teresa Morgan and Angela Holtz; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, Aug. 14, in Sheldon Chapel with Pastor Mark Lewis officiating. Music was Amazing Grace and O’ I Want To See Him.
Military Honors by Juliet Team and interment was in Clintonville Cemetery in El Dorado Springs.
Casketbearers were - Kalin Woodall, Dustin Drach, Colin Woodall, Kylor Michael, Derek Flock and Adam Morgan.
