Perry 'Butch' Chamberlin

Perry “Butch” Chamberlin, 83, Milo, passed away Sunday Aug. 22, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Kansas City, following a lengthy illness. He was born March 24, 1927, in Wakenda, MO, to Herman Porter Chamberlin and Kathryn Juliann Hance Chamberlin.

He was married Oct. 16, 1948, in Miami, OK, to Cahterine Cotton and she survives of the home.

Butch spent his youth and early adult life in Kansas City. He was a Navy Veteran.

He worked for many years at McClare-Norrington Chevrolet in Kansas City in the service and parts department. He later worked for a time at Costas Asphalt in Kansas City, KS.

He moved to Vernon County in 1977 to the family farm and resided there since.

He was an avid gardener and loved his dogs and other animals that he raised. He considered one of the best parts of his day was having coffee with his friend, Jim.

In addition to his wife, Catherine, survivors include two sons, two daughters, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, with Pastor Bill Platt officiating.
