Landon Leroy 'Lanny' Phelps

Landon Leroy “Lanny” Phelps, 60, Walker, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at his sister’s home in El Dorado Springs, following an illness of several months. He was born July 10, 1950, in Nevada to William Earl Phelps and Marguerite Milligan Phelps.

Lanny was a lifelong resident of Vernon County. He graduated from Walker High School in 1968. He worked as a mechanic for Guthrie Motors for 26 years until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of the Nevada Eagles Aerie Lodge #3770.

Lanny was preceded in death by his father and sister, Myra Garrett.

Survivors include his mother, Marguerite Phelps – Bolivar; two sisters, Letha Geer, and her husband, Larry – Granby, and Tena Lydon, and her husband, Tim – El Dorado Springs; one brother, Larry Phelps, and his wife, Ruth – Bath, IL; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Services were held Saturday, Aug. 21, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment followed in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo.
