Fred Lendermon, 86, Grandview, passed away June 24, 2011, at Beautiful Savior Nursing Home in Belton. He was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Ward, AR, to Dulin and Coma (Price) Lendermon.
Fred joined the Navy after an early graduation from high school and served from July 3, 1943, to February 18, 1946. On July 18, 1953, he married Bonnie Thompson in Springdale, AR. He worked for over 40 years in the grocery business. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fred was affiliated with the Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Dulin and Coma Lendermon, and two brothers, Hugh Lendermon and William Lendermon
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie (Thompson) Lendermon - Grandview; two sons, Robert Lendermon, and wife, Terry - Scottsdale, AZ, Steve Lendermon, and wife, Trish - Independence; one daughter, Debra Brown, and husband, Bryan - Gladstone; two granddaughters, Shannon Brocker and Kristin Cutbirth and husband, Scott; five great-grandchildren - Devon, Christopher, Blake, Brianna and Scottie; three brothers - L.D., Russell and Doug; and three sisters - Dora Lee, Ernestine, and Patsy.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home in El Dorado Springs with Ron Keogh officiating.
