Helen Louise Hill, 84, El Dorado Springs, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Cedar County Memorial Hospital.
Helen was born May 2, 1927, in Bates County, the daughter of Virgil and Winnie Wainscott. She grew up in Ballard and graduated from Ballard High School. On July 1, 1945, Helen was united in marriage to Ed Hill and to this union one daughter, Sherry, was born.
Helen’s pride and joy were her dogs. Anyone that knew Helen, knew Samantha and Cricket. Helen loved to bake and those who knew her, have often tasted her delicious goodies. Helen was always ready to go fishing or hunting, and as a previous owner of Tote and Float Boat Shop, her hobby became a successful business in El Dorado Springs.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ed; her two sisters, Margaret Shull and Rita Hudson, and niece, Janet Anderson. Helen is survived by her daughter, Sherry and grandsons, Brent and Matt. She leaves behind nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends.
Her family wishes to thank everyone for their kindness as well as their visits to Helen during her illness.
Services were held Monday, June 27, in Sheldon Funeral Home with David Studer officiating. Music was “In The Garden” and”“Old Rugged Cross.”
Casketbearers were Dwight Hamby, Steve Thomas, Bill Neale and Harold Morgan.
Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, under direction of Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs.
