Nina R. Coulter, 89, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City. She was born December 19, 1921, in Jerico Springs, to William C. Zollman and Fern A. Evans Zollman. She married Layton W. Coulter, Sr. on June 21, 1942, in Kansas City and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1996.
Nina grew up near Sheldon and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1940. She worked at Nelly Don in Nevada for 23 years. Nina has lived in Nevada since 1996. She was a member of the Montevallo Baptist Church, Montevallo.
Survivors include three children, Layton W. Coulter, Jr. and his wife Cathy, Springfield, Gary D. Coulter and his wife Barbara, Nevada and Cathy Jo Fox, Nevada; seven grandchildren, Daniel Coulter, Erica Coulter, Sarah Coulter, Tiffany Coulter, Steven Fox, Joy Gilzow and John Fox; six great-grandchildren, Ella Coulter, Mara Coulter, Melissa Fox, Megan Fox, Layton Fox and Blaze Gilzow; two sisters, Frances Edwards, Overland Park, KS and Wilma Duncan, Nevada and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two brothers, Leo Zollman, Harold Zollman and one sister, Marie Felton.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Interment followed in Dunnegan Grove Cemetery.
