Jesse Clark Carriker

Jesse Clark Carriker, 79, Lee’s Summit, passed away Sept. 30, 2009. Jesse was born Feb. 13, 1930, to Julius “Jude” and Mary “Lena” (Martin) Carriker in Cedar County.

Jesse is a Class of 1948 graduate of El Dorado Springs High School. He joined the US Air Force where he served four years.

Through the ups and downs, good times and bad, Jess always believed that Heaven must be extra special to be better than his life everyday.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Carriker; and children, Clinton and Valorie Carriker.

Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Mae (Andes), of the home; children, Deborah Carriker, Neilsen Carriker - both of Lee’s Summit; grandchildren - Jonathon Carriker - Hawaii, Amy and Robert Weeks - Lee’s Summit, Nate and Heather Carriker - Blue Springs, Matthew Earnest - Iraq; great-grandchildren - Braden, Rylee and Clair Weeks; brother, Ulysses Carriker - Stephens City, VA; and many other relatives and friends.

A “Celebration of Life” service and potluck dinner will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Community of Christ (RLDS) Church, 801 SW 19th St., Blue Springs.

Arrangements were by Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown.
