James Eldon "Jim" Elwell, 70, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, KS, retired avionics design engineer for Raytheon and Cessna Aircraft companies, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2003.
Services were held Saturday, July 26, at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Wichita, KS.
Jim served as past master of the Mystic Tie Lodge. He was a heart transplant survivor for 13 1/2 years. The family would like to acknowledge the John Steckstor family for their gift of life through organ donation.
Survivors include his wife, Iva Jean - Wichita, KS; daughters and sons-in-law, Drs. Janet and Kyle Fanning - Oklahoma City, OK, formerly of Augusta, KS, Joyce and Jim Green - Brandon, MS, and Judy and Terry Williams - Wichita, KS; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Keron Shank - Wichita, KS; granddaughter, Jessica Green - Brandon, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Elwell and Peggy Plagge; and brother, John Elwell.
A memorial has been established with Midwest Transplant Network, 1035 N. Emporia, Wichita, KS 67214.
Services were under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home, Wichita, KS.
