Michael Ray Brown, 53, was born March 20, 1950, in Nevada, to Ray and Dorothy Brown and passed away July 18, 2003, in his home in El Dorado Springs.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Brown - El Dorado Springs; two daughters, Lori Norbury and her husband, Shane, and Robin Brown; two sons, Beau Michael Brown and John Brown; two grandsons, Kaleob Shane Norbury and Kyle Lane Norbury; one sister, Glenna Ray, and her husband, Les; two brothers, Larry Brown and Ron Brown; and his wife, Nancy; three nieces - Melissa Nikodim and her husband, Dale, Heather Moeller and her husband, Brian, and Lindsey Brown; four nephews - Chris Ray, Randy Ray, Dean Brown and Brett Brown; two great-nieces, Kylie Ann Moeller and Tiffany Nicole Nikodim; three uncles - Gary Speight and his wife, Mary Ann, Daivd Brown and Gerald Brown and his wife, Ruth; two aunts, Marvalene Dennis and her husband, Roy, and Darlene Anderson; a special friend, Melissa; and his best friend, Kriston Costello.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Brown; grand¬parents, Georgia and Glen Brown and Russel and Mabel Speight; and an aunt, Doris Brown.
Services were held Monday, July 21, at Sheldon Funeral Home, with Rev. G. H. Sublett officiating. Musical selection was "I Can't Do Anything But Write." A poem written by his mother was read at the end of the service.
Pallbearers were Ray Brown, Joe Shearer, Jason Cunningham, Jimmy Widner, Gary Speight and Greg Cunningham. Honorary pallbearers were Shaun Margan, Ned DuCharme, Roger Dille and Vance Johnson. Burial was in El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under direction of Sheldon Funeral Home. Jim Tolivar, from the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4270, talked about Michael's work in the Eagles Club leading up to him being elected "Eagle of the Year" in 1999.
"One last shot" in honor of Michael was fired with his muzzle-loading gun by Kriston Costello with brothers, Larry and Ron, standing beside him.
