Earl Richard Poston, 85, El Dorado Springs, was born April 15, 1925, in Deepwater, to Roy Lester and Estel (Sherman) Poston. He passed away April 20, 2010, in Cedar County Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Springs.
Earl grew up in St. Clair County and attended school there. He served his country with the Army during WWII.
On Dec. 25, 1963, Earl was united in marriage to Belva Fern Barritt. Their early married life was spent in Harrisonville where Earl operated a service station. In the early 1970s, they moved to El Dorado Springs where Earl worked for the first MFA Oil Company and, later, for Barrington Manufacturing Company. He was a member of the Pacetown Baptist Church.
Earl was very kind and was easy to get along with. He was among the best stepdads in the world.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bob Poston; and two sisters, Darlene and Nola.
Earl is survived by his wife, Belva, of the home; one daughter, Lorna Poston – Urich; two stepsons, Richard Eslinger, and wife, Susie, and Larry Eslinger, and wife, Kristy – all of El Dorado Springs; four step-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Services and interment under the direction of Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, were held Friday, April 23, in Landaker Cemetery, Lowry City, with Rev. Everett Smith officiating.
