Patty (Hornbeck) Goyette, 85, passed away April 3, 2010, at LifeCare Center of Elkhorn, near Omaha, NE. She was born Oct. 1, 1924, in El Dorado Springs to Ora Jefferson Hornbeck and Mina (Lovins) Hornbeck.
Patty grew up in El Dorado Springs where she played trombone in the beautiful bandstand with her friend, Dorothy (Goyette) Walling, the sister of the man who was to become her husband and the love of her life. Russell served aboard the submarine
Pargo in World War II and was honored with the Silver Star.
She was married in 1942 to Russell Goyette, who was born in 1917 and preceded her in death in 1998.
In addition to her husband and her parents, her brother, Ora J., also preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Anderson and Christina Goyette – Omaha, NE; three grandchildren - Dusty and Sarah Anderson – Omaha, NE, and Katie Anderson - Denver, CO; sister, Loretta, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Wayne Wood - El Dorado Springs; sister-in-law, Millie Hornbeck - Topeka, KS; and loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Patty and Russell were laid to rest together in Omaha, NE, at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park in the American Legion Garden.
