Raymond M. Woody

Raymond Martin Woody, 79, Weatherford, TX, was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Monegaw Springs, to Melvin and Elizabeth (Mistler) Woody. He passed away April 15, 2010, after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. 

On June 6, 1949, Raymond was united in marriage to Helen Bishop in Waterford, CA. This union was blessed with three sons.
He later married Geraldine Eva Parker who preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 1990.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings - brothers, Herman Woody Jr., Melvin Woody, and sisters, Beulah Woody Price and Mary Woody Patterson; and two grandchildren, Raymond Martin Whisler and Valeta Jewel Rock.

He is survived by his wife, Beth, and son, John Coslett - of the home; children – Wayne and Sharon Woody - Monegaw Springs, Mike and Sandra Woody - Nevada, Steve and Candy Woody - El Dorado Springs, Adam and Heather Reed - Springtown, TX, Lloyd Jr. and Kay Whisler - El Dorado Springs, Margie Daniels - El Dorado Springs, Anna and Jerry Rock - Cherokee Village, AR, Fred and Mitzi Whisler - Caplinger Mills, Missy and Bobby Long - Azle, TX, and Loyd Whisler III - Springtown, TX; his siblings - Jim and Erma Woody - Belton, Dave and Lillian Woody - Woodland, CA, Betty June Tharp - Meadeville, Bill and Beulah Woody - West Sacramento, CA, Merle Woody - Hesperia, CA, and John Price - Meadville; 27 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; many nieces, other relatives and countless friends.

Services were held Monday, April 19, in Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel with Rev. Roger Beach officiating. Music was Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind.

Casketbearers were - Danny Woody, Steve Woody Jr., Kenneth Woody, Mike Woody, Steve Woody and Adam Reed. Honorary casketbearers were - Joe Florido, Carl Swagger, Ronnie Lunsford and John Richey. Interment was in Woody Cemetery under the direction of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
