Janice Sue “Janette” Galster, 55, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at her home in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born April 4, 1955, in El Dorado Springs to Gene Fleener and Phyllis Larson Fleener.
She married Gary Lee Galster on April 13, 1996, in Miami, OK, and he survives of the home.
Janette was a graduate of the El Dorado Springs High School. She lived most of her life in Walker and Nevada. She worked for 25 years at Nevada Habilitation Center until her retirement in May of 2010.
Survivors in addition to her husband, Gary, include: Four children – Stephanie Halcomb and her husband, Kenny – Nevada, Cory Galster – Nevada, Jamie Galster – Lee’s Summit, and Chris Lechman – Nevada; five grandchildren – Mason Halcomb, McKenzie Halcomb, Brock Lechman, Issac Galster and Hadley Lechman – all of Nevada; six brothers – Danny Fleener, Donny Fleener, Ronnie Fleener, Larry Fleener, Eddie Fleener and Phillip York; two sisters, Delinda Rhyne and Betty Burdick; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10, in Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, with Minister Mike Perry officiating. Interment will follow in Coale Hill Cemetery east of El Dorado Springs. A visitation was held from 6-8 p.m.
Wednesday, June 9, at the funeral home in Nevada.
Memorials may be given to the Vernon County Cancer Relief Fund in care of Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
