Vera Marie (Green) Hunt, 82, Lincoln, NE, formerly of El Dorado Springs, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2010. She was born June 30, 1927, in El Dorado Springs, to Robert M. and Mary L. (Davis) Green.
She married George “Junior” Hunt and to this union three sons were born - Larry, Randy and Gary.
Vera worked at Russell Stover Candies until it’s closing and also worked for Lincoln Public Schools in the Belmont Grade School cafeteria. She loved her garden, flowers and especially her children and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Leta Faye Mann; and three brothers - Paul, Virgil and Leo Green.
Vera is survived by her husband, George “Junior” Hunt; three sons - Larry D. Hunt and wife, Valeria, Randy D. Hunt and wife, Sheri, and Gary D. Hunt - all of Lincoln, NE; five grandchildren - Cassy Hunt, Tiffany Hunt, Sadie Hunt, Timothy Hunt - and John Hunt; seven step-grandchildren; one sister, Eunice Smith - El Dorado Springs; one brother, Marvin Green and wife, Marvine - El Dorado Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
Services began at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, in Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Rev. James Coleman officiating. Lorraine Miller provided music. Interment followed in El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home in El Dorado Springs. Pallbearers were - Mitch Julian, Chris Julian, Brian Chism, Dave Taylor, Bob Smith and Scott Green. Honorary pallbearers were Brad Leonard and J.R. Hunt.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and left at the funeral home.
