Mary Cathryn (Katie) McMasters, 80, was born Sept. 24, 1929, to James and Irene Smith in Morganton, NC. She passed away on June 11, 2010, at the Cedar County Memorial Hospital.
On June 4, 1968, Katie and Ferrel McMasters were joined in marriage. Together they shared many happy years. Katie was a wonderful mother to her sons, Steve and Mike Wills. She was very dedicated to her family.
She and Ferrel were longtime members of the First Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs.
After her retirement in 1992, she devoted herself to her husband, her family and her home. She loved to cook and plant flowers. Katie was a source of inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was an independent woman of impeccable character. Her family and friends have been blessed by her presence and will treasure her memory always.
Katie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ferrel; her sons, Steve and Mike Wills; two grandsons, Jesse and Jackson Wills; and one great grandson, Jonathan Deckard Wills. Her memory will live on in those who loved her so very much.
Graveside services and burial was held Tuesday, June 15, in Fullington Cemetery, Cane Hill, with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Music was Amazing Grace.
Casketbearers were -Jesse Wills, Mike McMasters, Jackson Wills, Dale Bishop, Leland McMasters, Terry McMasters and Monte Russell.
