Kenneth Clark Ayers, 74, longtime resident of Owasso, OK, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, in Tulsa, OK. He was born on June 9, 1936, in Walker, to Oren Dale and Zola Mae (Clark) Ayers.
He was reared and educated in Walker and graduated with the Walker High School Class of 1954. He continued his education at Fort Scott Junior College in Fort Scott, KS. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Army.
He was married on May 2, 1961, in Elizabethtown, KY, to Mazie Steincross. Ken spent most of his working life as a cigar salesman. He and Mazie moved to the Owasso, OK, area in 1976 where they raised their family. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including hunting, playing cards, spending time with his family and friends and especially golfing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Loving family members include: his wife of over 49 years, Mazie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and her husband, Mike Walker - Ovilla, TX, and Kari and her husband, Scott Levy - Frisco, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, Kendell and his wife, Michelle Ayers - Yukon, OK; four grandchildren –Austin, Averi, Collin and Cameron; one brother and sister-in-law, Keith and his wife, Beverly Ayers – Nevada.
A memorial service was held Friday, Dec. 31, with Dub Steincross and Pastor Andrew Rankin officiating, followed by committal services and interment were held at Lone Elm Cemetery in Rogers County, OK.
