Theodore S. (Scottie) Elliott

Theodore S. (Scottie) Elliott, 83, El Dorado Springs, passed away at his home on Dec. 28, 2010. He was born Dec. 21, 1927, to Frank and Cora Lee (Loftin) Elliott of Roscoe.

He married Lena M. Lambrecht on Nov. 30, 1956. One son, James Kent, was born to the couple. Scottie remained on the family farm where he was born and raised until health reasons forced him to retire in 1999.

He served two years in the service during the Korean War and was a lifetime VFW member. He worked as a St. Clair Co. Commissioner for 10 years.

Scottie worked for the C.M. Pasley Auction Company from early high school days.

He especially enjoyed the fall of the year when he quail hunted with his father and brothers, Ralph and Eugene. He enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles and spending time at the library and playing cards and taking long drives through the country.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Kent; his parents; brother, Eugene; sister, Fae, and an infant brother.

He is survived by his wife, Lena - of the home; a brother, Ralph Elliott and wife, Fern - Lowry City; a special brother in-law, Frank Lambrecht - El Dorado Springs; a special sister in-law, Lois Hill and husband, Ray, Excelsior Springs; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Services were held Friday, Dec. 31, in the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel in Osceola with Greg Mangum officiating. Music was Precious Memories, One Day At A Time and Amazing Grace by Richard Sunderwirth and Gail Ingle. Interment was in the Osceola Cemetery.

Casketbearers were - Byron Wheeler, Jimmie Brown, Brett Shelby, Greg Hooper, Albert Mallicoat and Jack Wallace. Honorary casketbearers were - Bob Harper, Ray Higgins, Dick Kiefer, Luke Mathews, Jim Kottwitz, John Stutesman, Dale Pasley, Lynn Gardner, Bill Quessenberry and Charles Kincaid.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home in Osceola.
