Roy Carriker

Roy Carriker, 74, of Houston, TX, passed away at his home on Nov. 30, 2010. He was born in St. Clair County on Oct. 6, 1936, to Walter A. and Helen Carriker.

Roy worked as a mechanic for over 50 years, working in El Dorado Springs for a time before moving to Texas. He enjoyed his work as a heavy truck mechanic for the City of Baytown, TX, for 13 years.

Survivors include three sons - Eric Carriker - El Dorado Springs and Adam Carriker and Merle Carriker - Houston, TX; six grandchildren - Michael, Christopher, Genie, Tiffany, Khrystel and Elora; two foster sons, Steven - Houston, TX and John of Florida; one brother, Wendell Carriker - Houston, TX; three sisters - Velma Boe - Denver, CO, Donna Todd - of Missouri and
Connie Chapman - Osceola; and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, in Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home in El Dorado Springs. Grady Todd will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
